Cape Canaveral, Florida – After being postponed for three weeks by tropical storm Fay that unloaded several inches of rain and flooded many areas along the east coast of Florida, promises of sunny skies and calm seas welcomed everyone to the Fish Lips Bar and Grill for the Salty Marine, Canaveral Mac Attack - the final event in the 2008 Division 10 race.

The fifth place check would be won by the Keri-N-On, another Yamaha powered Contender, skippered by Jason Naumann, with Gill Strelec, John Beech and Sam Cory on board. They caught their 35.49 pound fish early on Saturday also fishing about 30 miles southeast of the inlet. They had caught some decent fish in the same area during the last two Mac Attack events and there is “Some great bottom structure to fish over”. Their big kingfish ate a blue runner fished from a kite in over. The fish almost dumped their reel, but Sam was able stop the fish and after a short fight, Gill gaffed their fish. “We would like to thank Scales Offshore Clothing, the Reel Pro Shop and Coastline Marine for all their help and support this year” said Naumann. Congratulations to Jason and the Team.

The Pompano Beach Saltwater Showdown was held August 7th-10th out of Hillsboro Inlet. The event was made up of 71 teams that qualified during the series’ first two tournaments, the Shootout and the Slam. SCALES had two teams enter the event, CRESCENT SOLUTIONS and CHIPS AHOY.
C.S. decided to stay local instead of heading up north, and it paid off. Within the first hour the team hooked into a quad. The first three were bonitos and the fourth was a 33.19 lb. Wahoo, which ended up being the 2nd biggest fish of the day. The top fish was also a Wahoo, coming in at 59.70 lbs by team RUSH ROLLOFF. Unfortunately for them they did not enter the Big Fish and Big Three categories. However, C.S. did and earned the team $8,300. C.S. has taken home more than $16,000 in prize earnings for the Pompano Beach Saltwater Series, which put them in the top five overall.

Congratulations to team CHIPS AHOY, they had a great series with $19,850 in prize earnings…good enough for 2nd place overall. SCALES is proud to be a sponsor of both of these teams.
Congratulations to all of the top teams at the Showdown and entire Pompano Beach Saltwater Series. For a complete breakdown go to Bluewater Movements.

We are once again proud to be a sponsor with BlueWater Movements in the Pompano Beach Saltwater Slam held June 14th. Team CRESCENT SOLUTIONS needed a strong showing to qualify for the series ending tournament. After a morning of being surrounded by Bonitos, they finally got into some Kings. At the end of the day they weighed three fish with a combined weight of 93.08 lbs, giving them 2nd Place in the team division. They lost 1st place by the slimmest of margins, just .19 lbs. Total team earnings were $7,890.

Team member Chad Troncale took down the 2nd Place King category with a 44.59 lb. fish. Bill Bryan added to the team total by pulling in a 37.58 lb King.
Congratulations to the Scales-sponsored team CHIPS AHOY. Chip and his team won biggest fish with a 51.40 lb. Wahoo, which helped bring them $12,550 in total tournament winnings.

Congratulations to all of the top teams. For a complete breakdown go to Bluewater Movements.

We are proud to be a sponsor of the 23rd Annual CFOA (Central Florida Offshore Anglers) tournament out of Port Canaveral. We had a Scales-sponsored boat enter the one day event, the LOWE TIDE, with anglers Chad Troncale, Brian Lowe, and Sue Black.
The goal was to have Sue take down the ladies division first and then go after the general fish categories. They ran 35 miles out to the edge of the stream with hopes of putting Sue on a monster. After about an hour on the troll, the 15 ripped line and Sue jumped on it. The fight lasted around 20 minutes with some rod-bending action…

and Sue came out on top. After the weigh-in, they decided to go for the general dolphin instead of the ladies since they were sitting on a 38 lb. bull. At that time the team was in first place, when it was all over the LoweTide held on to 3rd in the overall dolphin category. The ladies winner took top prize with a 20 pound fish, it’s safe to say Sue would have taken that down easily. Congratulations to all of the top teams, the CFOA put on a great tournament and we were happy to be a part of it.
