Super Sailfish Bowl

The inaugural Super Sailfish Bowl was held on Saturday January 11th, 2011 out of Palm Beach, FL.  This event, which benefits the Heath Evans Foundation, was a success with 15 of the top sailfish tournament crews competing in the one day shootout.  Congrats to SCALES pro team member Cap’t Chip Sheehan and the crew on the Chip’s Ahoy as they won the event with 12 sailfish releases!

Congrats to SCALES pro team member SANDMAN for winning the 38TH ANNUAL USVI OPEN/ATLANTIC BLUE MARLIN TOURNAMENT (boy scout) in St. Thomas. Sandra MacMillan, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and owner of the Spencer 60 released 5 of the blue marlin to earn Top Angler. The team released 9 blue marlin over the 4 day event. The tournament benefits the Virgin Islands Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

TEAM NATIVE SON

Congratulations to SCALES Pro Team Member Captain Art Sapp and his Native Son fishing team for winning the 45th Annual Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo. The team had an incredible final day of fishing weighing in four kingfish, four blackfin tunas and a cobia for over 273 pounds. This brought their two day total to 449 pounds, enough to overtake the defending champions Frick & Frack. Native Son earned over $15,000 for the victory!

TEAM SANDMAN

Congratulations to SCALES Pro Team member Sandman with owner Sandra MacMillan and Captain Neil Orange for winning the 2010 Custom Shoot-Out Billfish Tournament held out of Harbour Island, Bahamas on May 12-15. The team was able to successfully catch and release 2 blue marlin, 1 white marlin and 1 sailfish in order to finish on top of the 23 boat field and win over $45,000! .

Congratulations to SCALES Pro Team Member Captain Chip Sheehan for leading the Fins Up fishing team to victory in the 3rd Annual South County Shootout held out of Boca Raton, FL. The team enjoyed a productive day of fishing off Boynton Beach, FL to secure over 150 pounds of kingfish and blackfin tuna in order to secure the victory and take home $5,000 in prize money.
