The Pompano Beach Saltwater Showdown was held August 7th-10th out of Hillsboro Inlet.  The event was made up of 71 teams that qualified during the series’ first two tournaments, the Shootout and the Slam.  SCALES had two teams enter the event, CRESCENT SOLUTIONS  and CHIPS AHOY.

C.S. decided to stay local instead of heading up north, and it paid off.  Within the first hour the team hooked into a quad.  The first three were bonitos and the fourth was  a 33.19 lb. Wahoo, which ended up being the 2nd biggest fish of the day.  The top fish was also a Wahoo, coming in at 59.70 lbs by team RUSH ROLLOFF.  Unfortunately for them they did not enter the Big Fish and Big Three categories.  However, C.S. did and earned the team $8,300.  C.S. has taken home more than $16,000 in prize earnings for the Pompano Beach Saltwater Series, which put them in the top five overall.
